London: After a fairy tale wedding, it was time to put on the dancing shoes and party hard! And that’s what the newly wed royal couple, William and Kate did. With nearly 300 close family members and friends with them to celebrate the joyous occasion, the party went on till the wee hours in the morning.
The wedding reception was held in the Buckingham Palace and it was a black tie do. The groom’s best man and younger brother, Prince Harry finally gave a speech congratulating the newly weds and wishing them the best in life. Kate and William are likely to move in with Harry after they are back from their honeymoon.
The Queen and Prince Philip handed over the palace for the celebration, which was hosted by William`s father Prince Charles. The bride looked elegant in a white strapless satin outfit designed by Sarah Burton, who also designed her wedding gown. The groom looked dapper in a dinner jacket and bow tie.
Toasts were made to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and guests danced the night away within the walls of the magnificent palace.
The party was hosted in the ballroom which measures just over 36 metres in length and 18 metres in width, is the largest of the 775 rooms in the palace.
