A murder inquiry is under way after the body of a four-year-old girl was discovered at a house in Manchester.
Officers found the child's body at a two-storey council house on Garthorne Close in Moss Side.
Police said that staff at Manchester Royal Infirmary contacted them at 19:15 BST on Thursday after a woman came into alert them about the girl's welfare.
A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held in custody for questioning.
It is believed that the woman being held is the girl's mother.
A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman said detectives were not looking for anyone else in relation to the girl's death.
