Stranded Everest tourists get out as fog lifts
Kathmandu: Hundreds of foreign tourists stranded for over a week heaved a sigh of relief today as they left the remote Mount Everest region after dense fog and clouds cleared up resulting in resumption of regular flights. Air services from Lukla, the gateway to the Everest had been disrupted for more than a week due to bad weather. More than 2,500 tourists were stranded in an altitude of 9,100 ft for over seven days in Lukla.
