Ford to establish regional office in Riyadh
Ford Motor Company, a global automotive industry leader based in the United States, is to establish a regional office in Riyadh next year, Stephen Odell, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ford of Europe, announced Tuesday.
Odell was speaking at a ceremony held to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Company (AJVA), the Ford and Lincoln importer-dealer in Saudi Arabia.
Besides Sheikh Abdullah Al-Kraidees, president AJVA, and Hal Feder, director, export and growth (E&G) of Ford Motor Company, local dignitaries, members of the regional and local media as well as company representatives were present at the function. A documentary was screened highlighting the achievements made by the company during the past 25 years. The office is expected to open in mid-2012.
“During 2012, we will be relentless in our efforts to provide service excellence and enhance the ownership experience for Ford and Lincoln customers,” said Odell, thanking its local partner AJVA for the longstanding partnership that has enabled the two partners to celebrate their silver jubilee.
“Today, we are Ford’s largest volume dealer in the world,” Al-Kraidees said, thanking the customers who patronized the company from its inception. Sales of Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Saudi Arabia have grown consistently and AJVA is the strongest of all the dealers in the Middle East, Al-Kraidees said, adding that AJVA expects to close 2011 with an unprecedented 47,000 sales of vehicles in the Kingdom, representing nearly 60 percent year-over-year growth from 2010.
“This is truly remarkable and a direct result of our continued investment in growing the business and implementing customer satisfaction initiatives,” he added. Al-Kraidees said more facilities are planned next year including more showrooms, service centers and spare parts outlets.
The function ended with the distribution of awards to AJVA employees serving the company for 25 years. Earlier in the day, AJVA opened its latest Al-Sulaimaniah branch on Riyadh’s Dhabab Street, adding yet another outlet to its growing network of dealerships across the Kingdom.
