Karisma Kapur on maintaining her fitness levels after two pregnancies
To achieve a healthy body, you need to create a good balance between food and exercise. I always focus on managing my weight without going hungry. Weight loss should always be for a healthy reason and in a healthy manner to obtain the right weight for your body type.
Since pregnancies take a toll on your body and skin, there was a visible change I noticed in my body post-pregnancy. Women gain too much after a baby and after two pregnancies, your body and your skin — everything grows a lot. Though I am blessed with a healthy complexion, I still try my best to maintain it by including a handful of almonds in my diet every morning.
Almonds have been a part of my diet since childhood, having been passed from my grandmother to my mother and now to me and Kareena as well. They play an important part in managing my health and weight regime. It increases your fibre intake and makes sure that your multiple nutrient proteins needs are met.
The other healthy home remedy I talk about is ghee and it will definitely surprise everybody. I don't have it a lot, though all my relatives do consume it.
I also make sure that I drink loads of water. Green vegetables and fruits are a must in my diet plan. Heavy meals and munching on snacks should be avoided to maintain the weight. Honestly, I realised the importance of fitness after I enacted the role of Nisha in Dil Toh Pagal Hai. I had a very sporty look, fit body, grooved to Jazz style movements and Shiamak Dawar's tracks. That film did contribute towards raising awareness in general towards health.
