    Can You Solve This Question?

    CAN ANYONE SOLVE THIS ANSWER?
    Three friends went to a hotel. The bill was Rs. 75/- Each one contributed Rs. 25/-.


    The waiter took the bill to the cashier.


    The cashier was happy & decided to give them a discount of Rs.5/- & asked the waiter to return them Rs.5/-.


    Now the waiter was confused. How to distribute Rs. 5 among 3 persons?


    He kept Rs. 2 in his pocket & gave one rupee to each one of the 3 persons.


    So initially each one had contributed Rs. 25. Now as they are given 1 rupee back, their contribution reduces to Rs. 24.


    They all contributed Rs. 24 -- that is 24x3=72 & 2 rupees are in the waiters pocket.


    The total becomes 74. But they had paid Rs. 75.



    Where is the remaining 1 rupee?.

                    if u look at this way,
                    initial amount 75
                    after discount its 70
                    after , self tip by the waiter its 73
                    now each will have 73/3, which is 24.3333......

                      well... if he had Rs.5 give three of them Rs.1.6666666.... each, which is impossible to give.. and if he wants to give Rs.2 to each of them he will have to give Rs.0.666666..... to each, which is again impossible to give....
                      so remaining 1 rupee is the sum of the paisas that cannot be given... which is 0.33333333..... but 3x0.333333.... is 0.9999999........ which is accepted as 1 because it will never stop recurring...

                      it is logistics...

                      well thats my answer.... thinks its wrong because it is giving me an headache

                        and 24*3 =72

                        so total amount paid was 74 not 75
