Gangster 2014- An Ashique Abu cinema with Mammootty in title role - release Vishu 2014

Ashique Abu is coming back with an action packed underworld-don story after the not much successful 'Idukki Gold' movie. The project which was in plan long time(including title), right after initial venture 'Daddy Cool' by the director, didnt take off until last year after 'Idukku Gold', may be because of Mammootty's lack of time.

The first look revealing(by holding a ceremoney) was first of its kind in Indian cinema and attracted huge attention and long wait of the fans and movie enthusiasts in malayalam film world. Ashique abu who have tried many innovative promotion campaigns before for his films, has done an new style of promotion with this and is more expected before the release of the film Vishu 2014. Besides that, he is the producer of the movie under the banner OPM cinemas. Music is being done by most criticised music director(for copying music) in malayalam films Deepak Dev. The script of 'Gangster' is done by new face pair Abhilash Kumar and Ahmed Siddique and camera by Alby (honebee fame). The movie is set for a big start with over 200 theatres release in kerala. Mammootty's title lead role is Akbar Ali Khna who is presumed to be underworld don and story is rumored to be birth/rise of the gangster. Female lead roles are played by Nyla Usha ( the Dubai FM jocky turned actress in film Kunjanathante Kada) and Aparna Gopinath ( ABCD fame). Mammmootty is said to be lost about 10kgs and became slim for the film. Also there was rumors like Vijay or Ajith both tamil actors will be playing guest roles in the film, but it seemed to be untrue. The shooting is completed in the first week of March and should be in post-production works.
