ODIYAN (2018) Mohanlal transforms to Odiyan Manickyan in V.A.Sreekumarmenon's directorial debut in malayalam

Odiyans were a particular group of people who lived in Malabar (mainly Palakkad and some part of Malabar) part of Kerala before electricity came into our lives who have some magical powers of transformation. They were hired by people to scare their enemy and they are believed to be worked behind the shades of darkness. Lalettan plays the role of 'Odiyan Manickyan' the last known odiyan lived in Kerala and the most powerful of all of them. V.A.Sreekumarmenon who is well known in Malayalam advertisement industry is entering the Malayalam film industry with Odiyan which is set for release in early second half of 2018. Film has Manju Warrior as female lead and Prakash Raj most likely as opposite to Lal's title role although no information is leaked about roles of other actors yet. The film is attracting publicity for the reason of Mohanlal's body make over (see below images) to portray the young Manickyan. It is made public that Lal had lost about 18kg for this with help of a big crew from France recently and was appeared in public at Kochi which is believed to be part of film's promotion. Peter Hein who is best known for his work in Bahubali and Lal's own Pulimurugan is the stunt master for this film. NY VFXWAALA vfx under Ajay Devgan will be handling the graphical work of the film as recenty made known.
