Communist leader Karthiayani passes away
Kasaragod: Noted woman activist and Communist leader T C Karthiayani, who was in the forefront of the freedom struggle from Malabar region died of age related ailments today at her residence at Pilicode in the district, family sources said. Wife of T Subramanian Thirumumb, renowned poet and veteran freedom fighter, Karthiayani was 94 and leaves behind three
sons and two daughters.
Kathiayani was the moving spirit behind her hushand in spreading progressive ideologies during the freedom movement.
Known for her organisational capabilities, Kathiayani had played a lead role in hosting a women's conference at Koddakad
in the district during the freedom movement. PTI
