CPM commissars not to let opponents live: MP Veerendra Kumar

Kozhikode : Janata Dal State President M.P Veerendra Kumar alleged that the Communist party of India restricts lives of those who are not ready to bow before their arrogance. He said this in a letter to CPM General Secretary Praksh Karat. The CPM is directly challenging the democracy of the state through terrible attacks against the opposition and also criticizes the party as well as the media which are trying to expose the attacks. The CPM-led attacks against the media have increased terribly. 'Journalists and crew of almost all reputed print and visual media have been subjected to physical violence by your party,' Veerendra Kumar stated in his letter. The CPM-led activists set the office of Mathrubhumi daily at Chitoor on fire, causing major destruction. Veerendra Kumar also alleged that the district secretary of CPM, Wayanad, has gone to the extent of usurping the role of judiciary and the administration by calling for documents to be produced before him to prove the ownership of lands trespassed by them.

He said that the CPM has gone beyond its secular principles as it stated those from Wayanad wisper that Veeran doesn't get the complete vote of less than 250 families belonging to the Jain community, which is a minuscule minority.

How come the party, which subscribes to Marx's theory of 'materialist conception of history', adopt a reactionary and communal attitude? Veerendra Kumar asked in the letter.

Veerandra Kumar stated that the alleged encroachments he and his family have been accused of, had been in the possession of his father Padmaprabha, decades prior to 1952 and he possessed the land, while working with alliances under the leadership of A.K Gopalan, E.M.S Namboothiripadu and the leaders of the like. But the possession of the land had never been questioned then.

Veerendrakumar also pointed out that there are several other revenue lands in private possession similar to his land.
He stated that the state secretary of the party visited Wayanad, hurling accusations against him and his family, but is not ready to go to Munnar, where CPM's office itself is situated on encroached land. Veerendra Kumar also said he never have been resorted to the kind physical violence he received from the CPM in his lifetime, even from the RSS and BJP, against which he had consistently fought.
