Thiruvananthapuram:The cabinet has decided to appoint P Prabhakaran as the new chief secretary. The Cabinet also acclaimed the services of the present chief secretery Neela Gangadharan. Chief minister V S Achuthanandhan said this while briefing mediapersons about the cabinet decisions. The government will give 20 cents of land on lease for constructing a memorial for PS Sreenivasan at Thiruvanathapuram Pattam. The Cabinet has also decided to give concession in stamp duty and registration fee for land acquisition for the Palakkad coach factory. It plans to send an all-party delegation to meet the prime minister and submit a memorandum on land acquisition for the national highway development. The CM also said that the government will give an explanation to the governor on the controversy surrounding his customary address.
