Obscene comments in T-Shirt: Student loses job
Aluva: Police registered a case against a student for wearing a T-shirt with obscene wordings thereby breaching public manners. The student had come to the Aluva SP office for a police verification certificate to apply for a part-time job in an international airport. He is a college student from Kalamassery. When the student reached the SP office, the woman constable there, on seeing the comment on his T-shirt, told him to change the T-shirt. The student did not pay attention. When he approached the Special branch DySP Anil Kumar, a policeman nearby told the DySP to look at the T-Shirt.
When questioned on this, the student replied that he did not understand English and hence the meaning of the wordings. But later it came to light that he is a first year student of English literature. Police summoned his parents to the office and asked them to read the same. He was allowed to go only after charging a case. The boy was not given the verification certificate and lost the part time job too.
