    Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to the merger move between P J Joseph and Mani group, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said the LDF was not going to prevail upon the KC (J) to reverse its plans. On the possibility of KC (J) splitting in the wake of
    severing links with the LDF, the veteran CPI-M leader said 'let us wait and see. 'The LDF would go ahead with the support of the people.Those who want to co-operate with us could remain (in the front). But we are not going to compel anybody to stay with us', he told reporters after the cabinet meeting. On Joseph's absence at the cabinet meeting, Achuthanandan said the former did not inform him that he would not be attending the meeting.

    CM was briefing the media after the cabinet meeting.

    CM said that Kasargod district judge M K Premalatha will conduct a probe into the clash and police firingoin November 15, 2009 in Kasargod town. Cabinet also decided to give 5 acre 60 cents land for lease in Koyippadi, Kasargod to construct College of Applied Science by IHRD . It also decided to extent the time limit allotted for remitting abkari arrears, till June 30, 2010. The cabinet also set aside Rs 100 crore for renovation of Malabar Spinning Mill, Trivandrum Spinning Mill and Kerala Soaps.
