Money from Neelambari handed over to Puthanchery's family
Kozhikode: The money collected from Neelambari music show has been handed over to the family of lyricist Gireesh Puthenchery. The amount was presented by the Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem to the younger son of Gireesh, Dinanath at a function held at Hotel Malabar Palace. Rs 50 lakh was earlier planned to be given to Gireesh. After deducting the amount given earlier and his liabilities, a cheque for Rs 38 lakh was handed over. A total of Rs 71,07,755 lakh were collected and the cost of the progaremme was Rs 11 lakh. The amount was given from the balance Rs 59, 08, 905 lakh. The rest of the amount was given to ailing artists in Kozhikode. MT Vasudevan Nair handed over Rs 4 lakh to actress Santha Devi, Rs 2 lakh for Bicha Baburaj, wife of music director Baburaj and Rs 2 lakh for Machatu Vasanti.
