State to launch ''Agri Supermarket''
Thiruvananthapuram : An 'Agri Supermarket' will be inaugurated here on June 23, Kerala Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran said today. Addressing a press conference, the minister said the new Supermarket would provide various agri-related products, including most modern farming equipments, spare parts of various machines, seeds, saplings and fertilizers.
KAMCO would start production of small tractors using Italian technology with an investment of Rs 25 crore, he said.
The seven public sector units, coming under the state agriculture department, were making a profit in the last four years of the LDF rule he claimed.
The units were Kerafed, Agro Industries Corporation, Warehousing Corporation, Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation, Plantation Corporation, Oil Palm India and State Farming Corporation, he said.
