Rain strengthens; destruction havoc in many parts
Thiruvananthapuram: With the strengthening of monsoon, destruction has been reported in many parts of the state. One person died in Kasargod while landslides were reported from Theekoyi in Kottayam and Arakulam in Idukki. Many houses were destroyed in sea attacks in Poonthura-Beemapalli, Thiruvananthapuram. People blocked road demanding rehabilitation. Heavy agricultural damage were also reported in Kaladi, Kothamangalam, Koothatukulam and Muvattupuzha in Ernakulum districts. 18 houses were destroyed due to heavy wind and rain in Alapuzha. In many parts, fallen tress blocked road transportation. Around 40 houses were destroyed in Idukki.
