Sardine and Rs 10,000 as bribe: Woman SI held
Kasargod: The Vigilance on Monday held a woman SI of the Woman Cell and Helpline Leelamma for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 and a kg of sardine. Leelamma demanded bribe in a case relating to elopement of lovers five months back, from the boy's mother. She threatened the mother of the boy with dire consequences. The lovers had later tied the knot with everyone's blessings. The Vigilance kept Leelamma under their watchful eyes for the past one week after receiving complaint from the mother. Police also tapped their phone. Leelamma, earlier, was alleged in a similar case.
