Coco-Cola betrayed the state: VS
Aluva: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandhan said that Coca-Cola company had betrayed Kerala and the people of the state. Apart from environment hazards, the company has caused a loss of Rs 216 cr. He said that the loss will be recovered from the company itself and a tribunal will be set up.
The company has destroyed the beauty of Plaachimada forever. The company has been given permission to operate looking into the job opportunities. But Coca-Cola has done damage to Kerala.The company has been evicted due to the Court's intervention and people's support. He also added that Kerala needs no development which destroys the beauty of the environment. But some bureaucrats have spoken in favour of Coco-Cola at various occasions depending on the previous govt's policies. He was referring to Industries dept principal secretary T Balakrishnan without mentioning his name.
VS said that the stand of the government is very clear. He also added that Rajiv Gandhi, Arjun Singh and narasimha Rao have cheated the Bhopal victims, He was speaking at public meeting of the Agro Machinery Corporation at Athani on Sunday.
