Kerala will open 100 more Maveli Stores: Minister
Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Food and Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran informed the State Assembly today that the government would open 100 more Maveli Stores in the state. Replying to questions by P Jayarajan of the CPI(M), he said the state had 855 Maveli stores, with the maximum of 83 in Thiruvananthapuram district. Besides, this 335 supermarkets and 12 peoples 'bazaars' were functioning in the state to check the price hike, he added.
Divakaran said after the LDF Government came to powerit succeeded in increasing milk production by 53.3 per cent.
The Minister said the government would give all assistance, including land and subsidy for buying high-yield cow, to individuals and NRIs, if they were interested in setting up dairy farms in the state.
