Karunakaran against organisational polls in Congress
Thiruvananthapuram: K Karunakaram came out vehemently against the organisational polls in Congress by criticising the state congress leadership. In a press meet called at his house on Saturday, Karunakaran said that the organisational polls are just a big spoof and it is only a part of an attempt by some to take hold of the organisation. This polls can't be accepted and there are only some talks going on in the name of consensus. The polls must be conducted impartially and constitutionally. But here a comedy is just taking place for the first time in the history of Congress.
When asked if Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy had visited him, Karunakaran said they were trying to cheat the public. Though he did not get any positive response from his complaint to Sonia Gandhi he hasn't lost confidence with the high command.
He would meet the central leadership once more and then only would decide about the future. When asked whether the KPCC leadership misguided him about the polls, he corrected, `not misguided, but cheated'.
