Karnataka HC defers hearing of Madani's bail plea

Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday gave a week's time to the prosecution to submit return statement in the anticipatory bail application submitted by PDP chairman Abdul Nazer Madani. Justice S Anand considered the bail plea. Madani in his plea had requested to grant him bail in the case and want the court to examine the documents relating to his travel details from the Kerala police. He also informed the High Court that he was being targeted in the Bangalore blast case and that he was innocent.

Madani's lawyer claimed that the alleged crime of conspiracy is baseless. He said that when Madani was added as an accused under such a section, the prime permission of the state government was not sought.

It was on 12th of this month that Madani's advocate P Usman filed a bail application in the Karnataka HC.
