Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Revenue Minister K P Rajendran today told the state Assembly that the government will take effective measures to take back all the land illegally held by TATA in the Kannan Devan Hills (KDH).
Replying to a question, he said the survey in the KDH was nearing completion and once it was completed, the government would notify the excess land.
As per the Land Board assessment, the KDH plantation has 57192.65 acres of land in its possession, Mr Rajendran said.
He said the land where Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan had placed the government board in Munnar stating it was government property was still in the possession of the government.
Even after the board was put up, encroachments had taken place in the land and cases had been registered in this regard, he added.
