    7 Kerala former ministers face vigilance cases

    Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today told the state assembly that seven former state ministers were facing vigilance cases. In a written reply, he said former ministers Adoor Prakash, Raghuchandrabal, K Karunakaran, M K Muneer, T H Mustafa, C V Padmarajan and R Balakrishna Pillai had vigilance cases against them.

    Of the nine vigilance cases against Mr Muneer, he said the investigation in one case had been completed and the remaining eight cases were in the investigation stage.

    The vigilance case against Prakash was also in the investigation stage, Mr Balakrishnan said and added the Supreme Court had stayed the cases against Mustafa and Karunakaran.

    In Raghuchandrabal's case, the investigation had been completed in one case and another case was under trial.

    The vigilance case against Balakrishna Pillai was being reinvestigated, he said adding the Centre's permission was awaited in the case against Padmarajan.
