Car plunges into Pampa river, 2 kids die

Kottayam: In a tragic incident, a car lost control and fell into the Pampa river on Sunday morning at 9 am at Neeretupuram near Tiruvalla. Two children who were travelling in the car died in the Pampa. David, father of Darshana (18) and Dona (7), studying at TMT School in the VIII and II standard, was riding the new car to the church when the incident happened. It is learnt that when David was trying to take a reverse he lost control and the vehicle dived into the river. David's wife was standing close by.

David, also a teacher at the TMT School, was saved. He attempted suicide by consuming poison on knowing the fate of his missing kids. He had been admitted to a private hospital.

Fireforce and police reached the spot and fished out the bodies of the children.
