CMS college principal debarred from exam duties

Kottayam: The Syndicate meet of MG University held here on Saturday has decided to debar Prof. M M Kora, Principal of CMS College, from all examination duties. The ban comes for opening the sealed bundles of question papers before the time of examination and also for not reporting the matter to the university. The syndicate also decided to forward a letter to the college seeking to appoint another person. The gaffe on the part of the principal would be reported to the Director of Collegiate Education and a police case registered against the principal, the syndicate decided.

Allegations were raised that the question paper for BA Communicative English was unsealed before the examination date. The Registrar also sent a showcause notice to the principal on the issue and the principal has asked for two week's time . Meanwhile, a Syndicate sub-committee was appointed to study the attendance shortage of Jaik C. Thomas whose expulsion from the college created a standoff between the CMS College management and the SFI.
