Land encroachment had taken place in Attappadi: Collector

Palakkad: Collector K V Mohan Kumar, who probed the land encroachment issue in Attappadi, has submitted his report to the state government on Sunday. The report confirmed that the windmill company had fooled the tribals of Attappadi. There were allegations that a private windmill company had encroached around 100 acres of tribal land and 50 acres of forest land at Nallachinga and Varnampadi.

Minister A K Balan had told the Assembly that he would discuss the issue with the opposition after getting the report. In the midst of this, forest minister Binoy Viswam too had ordered a parallel probe into the encroachment issue.
