Vallarpadom: First phase to be commissioned in October

New Delhi: Union Shipping minister G K Vasan informed the Lok Sabha that the first phase of the Vallarpadom International container terminal will be commissioned in October. In his reply to a question by K P Dhanapalan MP, the minister said that 95% construction work has already been completed. With the commissioning of the container terminal, it will pave way for opening up of many terminal-related industries like container goods stations, depots, special economic zones centering ports, inland waterways, logistic and storage centers.
