    Rupees 3.5 million currency seized

    Malappuram : Police today seized Rs 35 lakh at Thangalppadi near Kuttippuram in this district of Kerala and nabbed one person in this connection. Police said Driver Sulaiman (30) was arrested for carrying the currency in Rs 1000, Rs 500, Rs 100 and Rs 50 denominations in a car without proper documents.

    On interrogation, the arrested person told police he was carrying the money for delivery to one Mujib at Ponnani in the district.

    The case would be handed over to the Enforcement Directorate for further action, the police added.
