Russian citizens to become freelance policemen

Moscow: Russia citizens will soon be engaged as freelancers to help policemen in their duties, a new bill has said.
The bill said police officers while performing their duties have the right to engage citizens for freelance service and establish cooperation with those interested in cooperation with police. It also said police can pay the citizens for their assistance.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev recently suggested significant changes in the police legislation in the country, including changing the name of Russian law enforcement forces from 'militsia' to the internationally accepted word 'police'.
