UDF holds march to Attappady

Palakkad: The UDF held a march demanding a probe in the land fraud in Attappadi, Agali and Sholayur by private windmill companies. Oommen Chandy alleged that though there exists rules banning land encroachments in tribal land, the private companies cheated the tribals with the support of ruling government. The leaders also demanded giving back the land to the tribals after canceling the contract with companies. The UDF held the march towards the controversial land in Nallachinaga. Police stopped the march. March leaders accepted petitions from the tribals and heard their complaints.

The march began from the Kerala Tamil Nadu border Aanakkotty. Apart form Ommen Chandy leaders like Kunhalikutty, MP Veerendrakumar, T M Jacob, R Balakrishnapillai, CP John, Rajan Babu, Shibu Baby John and K Krishnan Kutty participated.
