Kochi: The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) will be investing rs 25 crore on its various expansion
programmes, which includes plans to open outlets at Mumbai and Delhi and setting up 3 Hypermarkes in Kerala this fiscal. Supplyco was awaiting clearance from the state government to open outlets in Mumbai and Delhi. As soon as the government gives its nod, the outlets would be opened this fiscal Supplyco Managing Director, Yogesh Gupta, told reporters here.
The Hypermarkets would come up at Kottayam (Rs 3 crore investment), Thiruvananthapuram (1.26 crore) and Thalassery (Rs 99 lakh). A Rs 15 crore Medical Diagnostics Laboratory, which would provide services at reduced rates, was on the anvil an dwas most likely to come up at Kochi, he said.
The sales turnover in the 2009-10 financial year was Rs 2284 crore against Rs 700 crore four years ago, he said.
The first quarter sales of this fiscal was rs 580 crore against Rs 530 crore during the corresponding period last year.
Supplyco has also introduced various branded products. All medicines, including life saving drugs are sold at an average discount of 15 per cent through its retail medical stores throughout the state.Pti
