Kozhikode : The BJP in Kerala today alleged that the CPI(M) had ''reached a secret pact'' with People's Democratic Party(PDP) to delay the arrest of its Chairman Abdul Nazer Madhani in connection with the Bangalore serial blast case.
Speaking to newspersons here BJP Kerala unit President V Muraleedharan said the CPI(M) led LDF government was not extending cooperation to Karnataka police to arrest Madhani despite offering assistance.
Home Minister K Balakrishan's statement that Karnataka police had not consulted the government was an indication of the secret understanding with the PDP, he alleged.
As the Karnataka police arrived to arrest Madhani in connection with an important case, there was no need to get government clearance to execute a court warrant, he said.
Madhani's claim that many Kerala ministers consulted him on various issues also pointed to the unholy nexus between the CPI (M) and the PDP, he alleged, adding Chief Minister V S Achuthandan should order a probe into the issue.
He also criticised the Congress and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leaders for keeping mum on the delay in the arrest of Madhani.
