Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala has informed the State Election Commission (SEC) that it was willing to conduct elections to Local Bodies in a single phase.
The government, in a letter to the Commission, also said the polls could be conducted in such a manner that the new local bodies could assume office on November one.
SEC sources told UNI the Commission received the letter today.
They said the government had said that the decision was taken at an all party meeting held yesterday, in which all political parties demanded single phase elections.
