Madhani's arrest: Muslim leaders meet VS

Thiruvananthapuram: Various leaders of muslim outfits on Sunday met chief minister V S Achuthanandhan and requested that PDP chairman Abdul Nassar Madhani should not be arrested till the anticipatory bail plea filed in the Supreme Court is heard. But it is learnt that the CM had expressed his inability to deal with the case as it has got its own limitations and with a legal arrest warrant he would not be able to interfere.

The CM told the Muslim leaders that law will take its own course and has to be dealt legally. As it is the Karnataka police which had booked the case, Kerala has nothing to do with it. And interfering in that is legally incorrect, he said.

The delegation comprising representatives from 15 outfits met the CM. BSP leader Neelalohithadas Nadar and media observer Das Surendra Babu were also present.
