    KSEB to get Rs 270 crore more

    New Delhi: As part of the central project to curb transmission and distribution loss of electricty, the state will get a fund of Rs 270 crore. The fund was allotted at the standing council meet of Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Project. A total of Rs 1500 crore had been allotted for KSEB including computerization. In the first phase of programme, Rs 214 crore had been allotted in February. The tender was given to an electricity transmission company in Korea.

    During the second phase 43 cities have been included. 15 cities among them, an amount of Rs 93.24 crore had been allotted earlier. And now Rs 269.88 crore had been allotted for 21 cities. For small cities, Rs 115 crore would be needed. A Rs 123-crore project Supervising Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) had been formated for Thiriuvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. This project would be submitted to the standing committee soon.

    For the basic development of infrastructure, another project of Rs 550 crore would be submitted. As per the project, the state have to utilise the money and implement information technology resources within March 2012. Otherwise KSEB would have to repay the amount.
