Santha Devi taken to old age home

Ailing drama actor Santha Devi was taken to the old age home at Vellimadukunnu. Alighting from the colorful world of cinema to old age filled with only black and white colors, her mind is filled with commitments which she had already promised. Once upon a time, she was recognized by the drama stage in Kozhikode and in the Malayalam cinema. But today she is living with those who are alone. On Wednesday, Santhadevi was admitted to the old age home at Vellimadukunnu by some collegues with the help of the Kozhikode collector.
She was in grief when she was brought to the old age home. Though she bagged the national award for best supporting actress, during this phase of life she is left with no one to take care. Her husband and son pre-deceased her. Another son shifted his base to Salem and her grandchildren are not in a position to look after her.

For some says her heath was not well. When she was alone in Nallalam, her old colleagues, including Nilambur Aisha, brought her to the MIMS hospital with the help of hospital authorities. After getting discharged, it was loneliness again at home. It was with the initiative of collector P B Salim, script writer T A Razak and Dr Venugopal from MIMS that she was given a temporary accommodation at the old age home. Soon she would be given a home and a caretaker.
