    Novel system for lie detection

Kozhikode: A novel system to conduct lie detection with the backing of modern technology will be implemented in the state soon. The Neuro Signature System (NSS) can record even the minutest electric beats in the brain. The equipment, worth more than Rs 1 crore, will be implemented at the Centre for Forensic Science Laboratory in Thiruvananthapuram. The state home ministry is planning to give training to the present office staff in the lab.
    .
The new system will be able to counter the limitations posed by the present systems like polygraph, brain mapping and narco analysis test. At present the system is being functioning at the Mumbai Gandhi Nagar Directorate of Forensic Scinece Lab and Centre Forensic Science Lab in Chandigarh. International police teams like Scotland Yard have been using this for years. The polygraph test is based on the changes and movements in the body. But while questioning terrorist, who can overcome all such movements, this system even fails. But NSS would be able to map even the minutest details and the culprit won't be able to hide the same. If the culprit had any relation with the crime, it can be detected like special brain electric waves. The specialty of the system is that the details of questioning can be kept as forensic activation report. The system was developed and gained patent by Prof CR Mukundan of Axonite Solutions based in Bangalore.
