Thiruvananthapuram: Strict security measures would be implemented in the state from Thursday night onwards in the wake of the Ayodhya verdict by the Allahabad High Court on Friday. As many as 32,000 policemen would be deployed for security measures. The police also requested to issue prohibition orders in some northern districts for three days from Thursday. But police would be able to take further action only after receiving the report of district collectors.
As part of security regulations, police patrolling would be implemented in railway stations, bus stands, public places, highways, etc. Bomb squad has been deployed at railway stations and has also decided to deploy Rapid Action Force in northern districts.
All policemen who are on leave have been called back. DGP Jacob Punnoose said that for ensuring maximum security, all steps have been taken.
