Kottayam: The district medical officer has spspended Dr Deepa Ravi, who was practising on contract basis at the district
hospital under District Rural Health Mission scheme. Deepa was suspended as she refused to co-operate with the enquiries in connection with practising of a youth impersonating as a doctor under her at the hospital, district authorities said today.
Royish T Raju (22), a plus two drop-out, of Chengalam here was remanded to judicial cstody yesterday as he was found assisting Deepa at the hospital. Earlier he was working with a private financial institution here.
The authorities have decided to issue identity cards for all employees at the hospital.
The district collector has ordered strict vigilance at the governemtnt medical College hospital, district hospital and taluk hospitals at Changanacherry, pala and Vaikom. PTI
