Student, who went to attend Sunday School, found dead

Alappuzha: A girl student who had gone to attend a personality development class in a Sunday school was drowned in a pond. The deceased is Sreya, 12, daughter of Alappuzha Kaithavana Benny. She was found dead in the pond of an organization `Accept' in Alappuzha Pakki junction functioning under the Changanssery diocese. Locals created a furore alleging suspicion over the death. . Sreya, a 7th standard student at the Alappuzha St Antony's School, attended the camp along with her sister Sruthi on Friday. 68 students from Kaithvana school attended the camp and among them 38 were girls. The girls were given accommodation at various building near the organization. Sreya and Sruthi were in different rooms and in the morning Sreya was found missing. Later the body was recovered from the pond by the locals.

The locals created a furore sighting blood marks on her face.There were totally 10 students in Sreya's room and a nun. As the lock of the room was not in good condition, luggages were kept close to the door. The officials of the organization informed police that Sreya was affected with somnambulism (sleep walking). Police began a probe. Sreya's father is an auto driver. Suja is her mother.
