This year as many as 8,500 people are undertaking the Haj pilgrimage through the Haj Committee. The minister said that all arrangements have been made for the journey. This time Nas Airways from Saudi will take all the passengers from Kerala.
Direction has been given to the travelers to reach a day prior to the journey in Haj house. This year 13 government employees will accompany the travelers. For medical services, medical officers, para medical officers, employees and experienced volunteers would be sent.
Preparation of travel documents of the pilgrims has been started by a Haj cell at the airport, consisting of 25 government employees, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Kareem.
The pilgrims were from Kerala, Lakashadweep and Mahe. A Haj camp had already started functioning at Karipur.
However, the service of special flights would also be available till November 3. The schedule of these flights have been prepared by the Central Haj Committee, the sources said
