Rs 50,000 looted from district consumer forum head's account
Kozhikode: A total of Rs 53,000 was looted from the bank account of district consumer redressal forum president Yadunandan after pick pocketing his purse containing the ATM card. The incident occurred when he was standing at Kozhikode Moffusil bus stand to pick bus to Kasargod. At first his purse containing Rs 7000 and ATM card was stolen. Then the thief withdrew Rs 46,000 from the account. It is learnt that the secret PIN was also written in the card, which made the withdrawal easier.Yadunandan came to know about the same later. He gave a complaint to Kozhikode Kasaba police after returning from Kasargod. Though the account is with Syndicate bank it is not know that from which counter the money was withdrawn. Police said information collection is progressing with the help of an ATM call centre in Bangalore.
