Thiruvananthapuram: In the report submitted by CPI assistant secretary B N Chandran in the CPI executive meet held on Friday , it was stated that the stand of CPM lead to forming alliance by the religious groups, which caused failure in LSG polls. During parliament polls, CPM made efforts to grab minority votes through Madani and that too was failure. During that time CPI dismissed such a move but during the LSG polls CPI failed to give warning, the member alleged.
The members flayed that and party failed to protest against CPM attacking religious leaders. There was situation where CPI stood backward in the campaigns by giving all charges to CPM. All matter went as per wish of CPM, they alleged.
CPI's presence was felt only in the form of some statements as the one said by K E Ismail on the Janatha Dal.
The meet also made self criticism as the party can't stand away by putting all blame on CPM. The performance of CPI was pathetic it its strong hold like Kollam, Idukki and Alappuzha districts
