Kerala Transport minister in conductor's role

Thiruvananthapuram : In khaki pants and slacks with the ticket rack and cash bag in bag, he would have passed for any other conductor. But only after few moments the passengers realised that it was the state transport minister Jose Thettayil, who was
conducting the bus. Thettayil, himself a film buff, was doing the role of a conducter in a film directed debutant director Mahadevan
titled 'kaana Kobmath' ( On unseen branch).

The minister, who appears only in a few scenes, boarded the bus at Pala in Kottayam district along with the shooting
crew the other day. The director said the minister had great actig talent and he was alright in the first take itself.

Though it was his maidem appearance before the camera, Thettayil said he did not feel any tension.

'Both politics and acting require some basic talen. I think only a good artist can become a good politician,' Thettayil,
a Janat Dal nominee in the cabinet said. Interestingly, Thettayil is not the first minister in the state to act in film. Kerala Congress (B leader )K B Ganesh, who was Transport Minister in the previous UDF Government, is a leading film and TV actor.

Senior Muslim League leader and former minister Dr M K Muneer has also appeared in films and albums.PTI
