Kerala asks Centre to look into Foreign account of Thachankary

Thiruvananthapuram:Kerala government has asked Centre to look into the reports on foreign bank accounts
allegedly held by the controversial IPS officer Tomin J Thachankary, who was now under suspension. 'Kerala government has brought to the notice of Centre about the reports. Centre was the right authority to look into
matters like this', State Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters here today.

However, Home Minister refused to commend on the reports that State DGP Jacob Poonoose had submited a report confriming
that Thachankary had bank accounts in a foreign country. Thachnakry was in the news recently for his alleged foreign
trip without taking due permission from the state government. He was suspened following a vigilance case against
him for amassing wealth beyond his known source of income and also for undertaking foreign trip without taking due
permission from the state government. It was also alleged that he met a 'wanted person' and offered 'safe return to
Kerala' who was staying abroad. PTI
