Kannur : Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly Oomen Chandy today urged that a total ban of Endosulfan pesticide was needed at the national level.
Talking to newspersons here, he said Endosulfan was a great danger to the society and it should be banned.
The United Democratic Front was ready to support fully the ban on Endosulfan at the national and state levels.
He said the Congress-led UDF Government had already banned the use of Endosulfan pesticide at the state level in 2004, while considering the after effects at Kasargod District.
He urged the LDF Government to enforce the ban effectively.
He demanded proper rehabilitation and medical facilites for the victims.
