Two held in RSS activist murder in Palakkad

Palakkad: Two persons were held in connection with the murder of RSS activist Ratheesh on Sunday. They were Puthussery Muriyampetta Ratheesh and Valiyapurackal Sateesh. The police team led by DySP NK Pushkaran, Kasaba CI, N K Surendran arrested them from Palakkad bus stand when they were returning to Palakked from Ernakulum. Ratheesh (24), (a local RSS 'karyavah), was hacked to death by a group of suspected CPI-M workers inside a passenger bus at Kanjikkode on Wednesday. Three of Ratheesh's colleagues were injured in the attack, after which the assailants fled the scene. The area had been witnessing frequent clashes between the RSS and CPI (M) workers.

The attack was unleashed after stopping a running bus.
