Thiruvananthapuram : Aimed at better service for the people, Kerala IT's latest initiative - Mobile Governance Services was launched here today. Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan launched the initiative, which includes services such as e-SMS, a common SMS Gateway for the Government Departments, Sutharaya Keralam, MMS Platform for District Collectors, SMS platform for Motor Vehicles Department and KWA Bill alerts.

Inaugurating the m-Governance Services, he said it was imperative that the government did not lag behind in providing services through the most used medium of communication. He also expressed hope that more services would be added soon.

In his address, IT Principal Secretary Ajay Kumar said about 20 m-Governance services have been included in this initiative which would enable citizens in a great way.

Mr Achuthanandan also inaugurated Kerala's first Technology Commercialisation Facilitation Agency (TCFA), the sixth such initiative in India.
