Thiruvananthapuram: The KSEB board meet held on Tuesday has decided to appoint a four member official committee to revise the KSEB pay structure. The panel would complete the first stage of preparations within three weeks. Further actions would be decided on the basis of a meet with employees, officers and organizations.
The term of the present wage system expired in July 2008. As per the demand of the employees organization for pay hike, electricity minister AK Balan had asked the board to begin proceedings for the same on December 8. But the board was reluctant as preparations relating to converting the board into a company was going on. This was also not included in the agenda for discussion to be held on Tuesday.
The employees, led by AITUC, met Balan and filed a complaint. The Minister wrote to KSEB chairman Rajeev Sadanandan and said that the delay in pay revision was not right and the matter should be included in Tuesday's meeting.
