    Bank fraud: Four held in Pathanamthitta


    Pathanamthitta: A special police team constituted by District Superintendent of Police K.Sanjaykumar arrested four persons, including a woman employee attached to the State Bank of Travancore, main branch, here, on charges of financial irregularities.
    The police action was on the basis of a complaint received by the SP from the Chief Manager of the SBT. The police team unearthed a bank fraud of about Rs.2 crore allegedly by a woman data entry operator at the bank, Princy, 24, of Koippallil house at Omalloor. Princy and three others had been arrested in this connection.
    Princy's mother, Anandavally, 48, her brother, Pradeep, 21, and a 40-year old man, Sunilkumar of Nediyathu Modiyil house at Ezhamkulam, were the other three arrested in connection with the case, the police said.
    According to the police, Princy has confessed that she has been diverting money deposited by various persons to a few proxy bank accounts created by herself for the past four years. Bank officials failed to detect the fraudulent transactions. The police suspect involvement of a bigger racket in the case and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
